Growth: Why Growing is Beneficial

This photo represents growth; growing into the ultimate you. The flower has grown out of its old shell and into its new shell.
In life there will be times when outgrow certain things and certain people. That is completely normal; life itself is a learning process. In life you must learn to grow, if you don't you will be stuck in the same phase forever. Growing helps you find your strengths, weaknesses, and more about you as a person. I can say that I have had major growth since I have graduated from high school and I can say that I am happy with it. I am still growing as of now but I appreciate every step of this process. I learned that the things I used to do or say cannot continue to grow with me as a try to grow better as a person. There are some people who can not grow with me as well. Letting go of those things and people are hard but in order to get to the next level or get to the spiritual level that I want it must be done. Any one can make a change and grow. You must be willing to let go of things that are toxic to your life, soul, spirit, mind, and body. Growing helps you become the most ultmate person that you have ever been. I compare growth to a snake shedding his old skin for his new one. When you let go of the old you and become a new you, you feel great. Things start to work out better for you, you start to accomplish more, you also feel better. I am still in process of shedding my old skin but once my old skin is completely gone I am going to feel better than ever! Growing means being able to let go of dead weight and gaining strength to take on whatever. What does growth mean to you? Have you grown into the ultimate person that you want to be?

  1. I think this concept gets more real to me every year as I mature. Learning to let go of past mistakes, showing myself grace, past relationships that were shallow, etc...helps us ultimately become happy and fulfilled. The joy is in the journey and remembering that every experience, good or bad, helps shape us...is an encouraging thought. Nice post.

  2. Growth is definitely necessary! We all need to learn to leave people behind who don't contribute to our growth.

  3. I feel that I am a completely different person with each passing year. Things that were important once do not matter, I feel I am more mature and clearly know what I want. Liked your post!

Favorite Things About Being a Mom

I am sometimes asked how is it being a young mother, my answer is, it has its ups and downs. I gave birth to my son at the age of 19. I was in labor at the time when there was a tornado in the town 15 minutes away from me. I was in labor all day that day on April 28th. On April 29th 2014 at 1:30 p.m. I finally gave birth to my 6 pounds and 2 ounce baby boy. He was so tiny I was scared to hold him. He measured 17 and a half inches long. I could not believe that I was someone's mother. I was the type of person to always say that I was never going to have children because I didn't like them. All of that changed when I had my son. The first couple of months were really rough; he didn't sleep well at night and neither did I. When he cried I cried, it was just rough. I found that I had became depressed but I never told anyone about it. I had thoughts of running away and taking my own life because things were not going how I pictured it to go and from being stressed and depressed…

Dear Leah, A Letter to My Younger Self.

Some of us have always wished we could go back in time and give our younger selves a pep talk. A pep talk that would have prevented us from going through or doing certain things that did not benefit us in the long run or anything in that nature. Well today I am going to write a letter to my younger self of what I should have done instead of what I did do (I hope that makes sense). There are things that we are not happy about or not proud and we often times wish we could go back in time and change that. I am going to write all about that in this letter to my younger self. Here it goes!
Dear, Leah
It is your senior year in high school and you are preparing to graduate in the next few months, you did it girl! Things are going to take a dramatic change in these next few months so you need to be getting more prepared than what you already are. Get your work in on time and actually put forth the effort towards your schoolwork!!! You are so smart yet you don't utilize it to the fullest …
